Yes—when an offline path can reach. In phase 1, two compatible MeshCore pods can exchange supported updates directly over LoRa. Nearby participating phones can also relay encrypted updates over the Bluetooth mesh. Maps, set times and meet points stay cached on the phone.

Direct device-to-device LoRa. Each phone pairs over Bluetooth with a compatible MeshCore pod, and two pods exchange short texts, SOS, and location updates directly when they are within radio reach. Favorable open conditions can mean a few miles, but the real range varies. There are no FindTribe repeaters in phase 1.

A repeater can forward a packet beyond one direct pod link. With careful placement, multiple repeaters can build connected coverage across a city, then link wider corridors across states. Nationwide reach is the long-term goal, not coverage available in phase 1.

Meshtastic is a strong community mesh. FindTribe needed a different product fit: stock companion pods that pair with the app now, quiet personal clients, and intentionally placed repeaters later. It can when a usable path can reach your trusted people. A direct LoRa pod link or a reachable Bluetooth phone chain can carry supported updates without the towers. If no path can reach, the update waits. FindTribe SOS alerts trusted people—not emergency responders.

Never. A stranger's phone can carry your message without ever being able to open it. The person holding it sees one line on their lock screen — "Carrying 2 sealed messages for others" — and nothing else: no names, no words, no clue whose. Only your tribe holds the keys.

Glanceable cards on your lock screen and Dynamic Island: the mesh card, counting FindTribe devices around you and the sealed messages you're carrying for others; "SOS is broadcasting," with a live count of friends who really got it; "Maya is looking for you," when a friend starts searching; "Finding Maya," with distance and bearing as you close in; and your itinerary — what's on now, what's next, what clashes. On Android the mesh and itinerary cards arrive as a live notification that stays put — same words, minus the SOS delivery count. The friend-finding and friend-SOS cards are iPhone-only.

Heads up, Ask, Meet up, Lost & found and Vibes — open boards you can read as Near me or Everywhere. You post under a pen name unless you choose otherwise. Posts can use internet or a reachable Bluetooth mesh. Nearby phones pass a new post along for 12 hours; the board itself keeps it for a month.

Location accuracy varies by phone, GPS conditions, buildings, crowd density, and the route available. When you start finding a friend, FindTribe requests higher-accuracy updates and shows bearing and distance. Use visible landmarks to close the final gap.

Not privately — DMs over the mesh work between friends. FindTribe sets up the encryption when you connect while internet service is available. To reach people around you, use the public boards.

Try the same sign-in method you originally used. If it still does not work, choose Account & sign-in in the form and tell us which device you are using.

Open FindTribe, go to You, open Settings, choose Delete account, and follow the confirmations. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store, Google Play, or website membership, so cancel that separately first. If you own maps, delete them from each map's Admin screen before deleting the account. Some shared posts, messages, reports, or media may remain under the Privacy Policy.

One press on the red Emergency button on your profile—there's another on the map. FindTribe looks for the trusted people you selected over internet, direct LoRa, or nearby Bluetooth when those paths are available. When the moment passes, one tap marks you safe.

No. SOS alerts the trusted people you selected over an available FindTribe path. It does not contact emergency services. If you need emergency services, call them.

The mesh uses Bluetooth Low Energy, which is designed for low-power communication. Actual battery use varies with location settings, screen time, signal conditions, device, and how you use FindTribe.

Because at the drop your phone is in your pocket and your hands are in the air. Background location lets FindTribe update your invited tribe without requiring you to keep the app open. One tap switches you to tribes-only, or off the map entirely.

People in tribes where you enabled location sharing can see it. If you intentionally create a time-limited location link, anyone with the exact link can access that share until it expires. FindTribe does not sell your location or use it for advertising.

Yes. Turn location sharing off globally or for an individual tribe to stop sharing there. A location link you already sent is separate: it remains accessible to anyone with the exact link until its selected duration expires, so share links only with people you trust.
